Sara M. Aparicio - Chairperson of the Board

Sara M. Aparicio was born in  Guatemala City, Guatemala. She arrived as an immigrant to the United  States in 1982 at the age of seven. Sara grew up in California. She is fluent in both English and Spanish. In 2002 Sara moved to Colorado Springs to be with her husband who is a US Army Soldier. Sara and her husband have five kids and have been happily married for over 18 years.  Sara has worked in the insurance and legal industry for over 20 years and at this time she is also a realtor for Berkshire Hathaway Home Services. Immigration is something that Sara feels very passionate about  and she feels honored and humbled to be able to work with a group of  people to help our communities.

Mara Alvarez - Treasurer

Mara Alvarez has been living in Colorado Springs for over 30 years. She  was originally born in Panama City, Panama. Mara is fluent in  both English and Spanish. She came to the United States to Study and during her stay, she volunteered at Fort Carson Red Cross, where she met her husband David, who was a soldier in the US Army. Mara and David and have four sons and have been happily married for over 25 years.  Mara has worked in the Insurance and Legal industry for the last 20 years. Mara  is currently a Realtor for Berkshire Hathaway Home Service and enjoys working with the Hispanic Community in that Capacity.

Nayeli Serapio- Lead Organizer

My name is Nayeli Serapio.  Soy originating from  Puebla, Mexico.  I have been involved with the Latino community in Colorado Springs for over 7 years in various ways, including as Sales  Director for a local Latino magazine.  I was appointed as a community leader by Colorado Immigrant Assistants and CONO serving my Latino  community is what I enjoy doing the most in this life I am always directly involved with my Latino community, it is for me a pleasure to live in a City where we are characterized by unity and dedication. I  also love to spread my Mexican culture like its food, its traditions that surround us in a wide diversity and that enriches all of us who love  different things. I also work in my Professional Soccer team in My City  Los Switchbacks FC where I work  in the ticketing area as a specialist in the Latin market.
